The Victorian Garden shampoos combine natural Soapwort extract and Seaweed Gel to which botanical extracts, essential oils and distilled water are added. We do not use petrochemical ingredients such as non-ionic surfactants and SLES (Sodium Lauryl Sulfate) found in most commercial shampoos, cleansers, gels etc. Instead we use a natural olive derivative which is SLES free and we combine this with Soapwort extract, a natural plant saponin. It is possible that some people may experience a “hair detox” when first using our Hair Shampoos. This is due to the prior use of shampoo products containing silicone derivatives. For the first two or three washes, the hair may seem dry and more tangled. However, if you follow your shampoo with one of our natural/organic Hair Conditioner treatments, this should be lessened and your hair will normally settle down into good condition very quickly.
