Grain Mill is a small family-run business based in Rheenendal, near Knysna, Western Cape.
The Schmid’s arrived in South Africa in 2014 with an Austrian Stone Mill, a pasta machine, and a vision: to practice the skill of grain milling and pasta making and to raise awareness about wholesome food and organic, small-scale farming.
Nowadays they specialise in the production of stone ground emmer, spelt and einkorn flours and pasta. Their range is made with organic grains and no additives whatsoever. Every packet of pasta leaving their farm has been packed by hand with great care and lots of love. This makes their products unique and truly artisan.
