Cascara Sagrada (Frangula purshiana) (bark) 450 mg
Other ingredients: Gelatin, microcrystalline cellulose (plant fiber), magnesium stearate, silica.
Directions to use: As a dietary supplement, take 1 (one) capsule at bedtime with a full glass of water.

Cascara Sagrada (Rhamnus purshiana) is a type of buckthorn tree or shrub native to North America. The name Cascara Sagrada means “sacred bark.”
The bark of the tree has been used by native North American indians as powerful laxative agent. The most prominent active components in Cascara are Anthraquinone derivatives and their glucosides, referred to as cascarosides. They appear to act locally as an irritant to the colon promoting peristalsis and stool evacuation.
