Grass-Fed Beef Mince, 500g (Farmer Angus)

Farmer Angus is a local farmer who started his business of Bio Dymanic farming in 2008 on Spier, outside Stellenbosch, South Africa. The farm raises cattle, laying hens, pigs, broiler chickens, lambs, vegetables and vines. On their 126 hectares of irrigated pasture they plant a diversity of perennial summer and winter legumes, herbs and grasses each of which brings different nutrition to the animals eating them as well as beneficial relationships with the soil microbes. Their pasture management is based on the high density grazing methodology, where a lot of animals are kept in a small space for a short period of time so large amounts of animal manure is deposited on the land and leads to healthy, vigorous growth achieved without applying any artificial (NPK) fertilizers. They move their cattle four times a day, the pigs every 3 days, the broilers and the laying hens every day. They also have a farm butchery where they process all their meat. The farm vineyards are certified organic and soon to be followed by conversion to biodynamic status.
