Did you know?
Sandalwood essential oil is distilled from the roots and heartwood of trees that take 50 to 80 years to reach full maturity. In an amazing and lengthy manufacturing process used since ancient times – the mature sandalwood trees are cut down, then left to be eaten by ants, which consume all but the fragrant heartwood and roots. Every part of the heartwood is used, including the sawdust. The scent, called chandana, is used in aromatherapy to induce a calm and meditative state. Sandalwood also has an age-old reputation as an aphrodisiac, and in fact, its fragrance is similar to the human pheromone, alpha androsterole.
Why natural soaps are better for you:
No SLSs – industrial degreasers known for their stripping effect on skin and hair and causing allergic reactions
Glycerin is not removed. In handmade soap, glycerin is a natural by-product of reaction between oil and lye. Glycerin has moisturizing properties which works very well with the healing properties of the natural oils and butters use and make the final natural soap bar a super skin food!
No artificial Fragrances and dyes. In natural soap making earth clays, essential oils, oats, teas and even fruits and veggies are used to enhance the smell, bring unique colors and increase benefits for your skin.
Natural soaps are milder than commercial soaps, and won’t strip your skin of its natural moisture. They won’t dry your skin out and won’t cause skin problems such as eczema. Natural Soaps contain natural glycerin which moisturizes skin. Furthermore, there are no synthetic additives, preservatives, fragrances, or colors that could hurt your skin and your health. Handmade soap also effectively kills germs without the use of such harsh and potentially very harmful ingredients as triclosan.
