• Nicotinic acid (known as Niacin) is a vitamin B3 supplement, recommended for reducing cholesterol levels and lowering the risk of heart disease. A common-side effect of supplementing with Niacin is flushing on the skin (reddening of the skin with burning and/or tingling sensation).
• Niacinamide or Nicotinamide is amine of Nicotinic acid (Niacin). It is often prescribed for treating ache, rosacea, psoriasis and non-melanoma skin cancer but it is not effective for lowering cholesterol. Small doses do not cause flushing effect on skin.
