Beta glucans are naturally occurring polysaccharides (found in the cell wall of fungi and yeasts) which have been shown to improve resistance to infection by stimulating the body’s innate immune response. This keeps the immune system primed and ready to defend itself against pathogens and foreign invaders. Derived from Saccharomyces cerevisiae yeast, studies show that beta glucans specifically stimulate the activity of macrophages, which destroy invading pathogens and stimulate other immune cells into action. While there are several natural sources of beta glucans, only yeast-derived beta glucans have substantiated clinical trials relating to their immune supporting properties.
Resveratrol: This formula features biologically active trans-resveratrol (from Japanese Knotweed) which provides antioxidant support and studies show that it plays a role in immune modulation.
Vitamin C is perhaps the most versatile nutrient with regard to supporting and enhancing immunity and each capsule contains 125 mg of this vitamin as magnesium ascorbate, which is a buffered, low acid form that is gentle on the digestive system.
