About Coconut Blossom Sugar:
Coconut Blossom sugar is produced from the coconut palm blossoms. The manufacturing is still not commercialised and all coconut sugar is produced the old fashioned way by the farmers themselves. The process involves climbing the coconuts palms and collecting the sugar sap by gently slicing the blossoms. Some farmers do climb few hundred times a day their palms. The collected nectar is than boiled till moisture is completely evaporated.
Absolute Organix Coconut Blossom Sugar is certified organic and looks and tastes just like conventional sugar. It is completely natural, unrefined and un-bleached, so all its nutrients are intact.
Coconut blossom sugar has calories like any carbohydrate, but due to its relatively low glycemic index (around 35), it is absorbed into the bloodstream at a much slower rate than refined sugar.
