A class of phytoestrogens, Soya-Isoflavones are plant-derived compounds with oestrogenic activity. Recommended for menopausal women, they are believed to increase bone mineralization, reduce bone absorption, enhance bone formation and improve markers of bone metabolism. Taking soy foods with isoflavones may also improve symptoms during menopause, and decrease the incidence of bone loss after menopause.
