In 1930s the Hunza tribes living in countryside near Northern Pakistan were discovered by Major Sir Robert McCarrison. The Major observed their longevity and near-perfect health. Some lived to be over 135 years old and no one had any of the conditions so common in the modern world, such as diabetes, obesity, heart attack, and cancer.
Dr. Ernest Krebs, a biochemist, researched their diet and lifestyle some 20 years later and discovered their diet consisted of raw milk, occasional meat and bone broth, fresh grains and veggies, very little sugar and a lot of apricot seed kernels.
Dr. Krebs continued his research until he discovered the glycoside Amygdalin, a tumor eradicating compound in Apricot Kernel. He named it Vitamin B17 for its structure resembles than of vitamin B complex.
