Benfotiamine is a fat soluble form of Thiamine (Vitamin B1) which makes it easier to penetrate membranes made of fat, such as the brain and nervous system. Willow Benfotiamine may assist with improving diabetic neuropathy (nerve damage due to diabetes), for addressing alcohol dependance, arthritis, HIV / AIDS and Alzheimer disease. Benfotiamine is believed to have strong anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties and may help decrease symptoms associated with Thiamine deficiency.
Vitamin B1 has been found to inhibit the formation of advanced glycation end products (AGE) (which happens when access sugar combines with fats or proteins rendering them unusable. This makes Vitamin B1 an important supplement for diabetics. Benfotiamine also protects the myelin sheath and it is a really strong anti-oxidant.
